A Sincere Desire

A Sincere Desire

Read: 1 Peter 2:1-3

1 Peter 2:1-3 (KJV)
1  Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
2  As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
3  If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

KEY THOUGHT:

As a Christian, you should have a desire – a thirst and hunger – for Jesus. He brings you satisfaction that cannot be found in anyone or anything else. That desire should lead you to His Word, which provides what you need to grow in the Lord. When you partake of His Word, you can’t help but see His grace and desire more to do His will.

CONSIDER:

  1. What are your strongest desires? Are they spiritual or fleshly desires?
  2. Why should you have a strong desire for God’s Word?
  3. When you grow through God’s Word, how will your behavior change?
  4. List some ways that God’s Word has changed you.

APPLICATION:

Have a sincere thirst and hunger for God’s Word.
