Find Joy in Truth

Find Joy in Truth

READ: 3 John 1-4

3 John 1:1-4 (KJV)
1  The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth.
2  Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
3  For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
4  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

KEY THOUGHT:

Communicating joy isn’t difficult. It can be as easy as sending a positive message about yourself or someone else. Consider the apostle John’s comment, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” John received joy as a result of hearing a good report about others. In fact, John said that it was his greatest joy to hear that others walk in Truth. Do you find joy in the Truth? If so, it’s likely that many others find the same joy when they hear about the Truth.

If the Truth has affected you in a positive way, let people know by testifying about it, either verbally or on social media. If you recently were blessed by acting on Truth, why not post that on Instagram? If you recently made a Spiritual decision at youth camp, let your Facebook friends know. If you found joy in reading a passage from God’s Word, tweet that to your Twitter followers. There is joy in knowing the Truth and walking in it. Who knows, your message might bring someone joy enough to like and share it!

CONSIDER:

  1. What kind of messages from friends bring you the most joy?
  2. How do you communicate your walk in Truth to others?
  3. If Jesus were your friend on social media, would He get great joy from your messages and posts? Why or why not?

APPLICATION:

Let others hear about your walk in Truth!
