Stay True to Prayer (1 Timothy 2:1-2)

Stay True to Prayer (1 Timothy 2:1-2)

READ: 1 Timothy 2:1-2

1 Timothy 2:1-2 (KJV)
1  I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2  For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

KEY THOUGHT:

Staying true to prayer means that you pray as God designed. This includes seeking God’s provision or supply to meet every need, asking for God to intercede on behalf of those in need, and giving thanks for all that God has done for you through every means He uses. Prayer is probably one of the most challenging priorities for a Christian. Prayer is often relegated to mealtime and bedtime. But there’s a need for faithful, consistent, unceasing prayer – an attitude of prayer focused not on individual needs but also on the needs of the church, the community and the country. Are you praying for all men as God desires?Do you find it difficult to find time to pray? If so, why?

CONSIDER:

  1. How can you place a greater priority of prayer?
  2. Why do you think that it’s important for you, as an individual, to pray for those in leadership positions?
  3. What are the most important aspects of your prayers?

APPLICATION:

Have a consistent prayer life that includes praying for all men as God.
