Persevering Faith (2 Timothy 3:14-15)

Persevering Faith (2 Timothy 3:14-15)

READ: 2 Timothy 3:14-15

2 Timothy 3:14-15 (KJV)
14  But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
15  And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

KEY THOUGHT:

One of the best evidences of your faith is your ability to persevere or endure when you face opposition. The ability to persevere isn’t a natural ability. It comes supernaturally through Jesus Christ. By following His Word, you can endure whatever might come your way. Following God’s Word means that you live in it. The Word isn’t just a superficial part of your life – it is your life! You must trust it for salvation, eternal life and everyday life. Your faith in God’s Word gives you supernatural ability to stand, even when it seems like it’s too difficult to stand.

CONSIDER:

  1. How would you describe your relationship to God’s Word?
  2. Describe some ways that your faith in God’s Word affects your life on a day-to-day basis?
  3. How does God’s Word help you when you face trials?

APPLICATION:

Persevere for Christ by living in His Word!
