A Full Provision (2 Timothy 4:14-18)

A Full Provision (2 Timothy 4:14-18)

READ: 2 Timothy 4:14-18

2 Timothy 4:14-18 (KJV)
14  Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:
15  Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.
16  At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.
17  Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
18  And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

KEY THOUGHT:

Even when it’s hard to find someone to be with you when you need help, you can be confident, knowing that the Lord is always there. He promised to never leave you or forsake you. You can have confidence and depend on Him. The apostle Paul recognized this. Even as others deserted him and in some cases did evil toward him, he credits the Lord for standing with him and strengthening him. Paul credits the Lord for helping him survive all of his trials and enabling him to preach. Paul also demonstrated trust in God for his future deliverance and preservation. No matter how many close friends desert you or turn against you, you can trust God to take care of you, now and forever!

CONSIDER:

  1. Who are your dependable friends? What makes them dependable to you?
  2. In what ways has God proven His faithfulness to you?
  3. How does knowing God will be with you always help you through difficult times?

APPLICATION:

Count on God’s full provision in every circumstance!
