A Decisive Stand

A Decisive Stand

READ: Ephesians 6:10-13

Ephesians 6:10-13 (KJV)
10  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

KEY THOUGHT:

How do you take a stand and then keep standing? Taking a stand can be difficult sometimes, especially if you must take that stand on your own. It’s far more difficult to keep standing once you’ve taken a stand. Taking a stand draws a battle line. Remaining standing requires battling against the enemy and his weapons. It requires preparation, strength and an understanding of the enemy. To stand in the spiritual battles that you will face, you need God’s strength, His power, and His armor.

CONSIDER:

  1. What is the difference between a spiritual battle and a physical battle?
  2. How can you be equipped by God to stand against the enemy in a spiritual battle?
  3. In every battle, there is only one victor – the last one standing… What are some of the battles you face, and how can you be prepared to stand rather than fall?

APPLICATION:

Decide to be ready to stand and to keep standing.
