A Defined Armor

A Defined Armor

READ: Ephesians 6:14-17

Ephesians 6:14-17 (KJV)
14  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

KEY THOUGHT:

Going into battle without first visiting the armory isn’t a good strategy for warfare. The armory is where you get equipped for battle. There you’ll find armor to defend your body and weaponry to fight the enemy on offense. There’s a Christian armory that God provides for you with defined armor to face spiritual battles – the very real warfare that is waged against you by Satan. God’s armory provides everything you need to stand against the enemy and withstand the blows he sends your way. Once you know about God’s armor, you need to use it by putting it on. Without putting on God’s armor, you don’t stand a chance in battle, but with it you’ll be equipped to withstand the evil attacks of Satan and above all, stand!

CONSIDER:

  1. List all of the armor and weaponry described by Paul in today’s Scripture. How does each of the items help you withstand the enemy and stand in the battles you face?
  2. Why is it important to be equipped with the “whole” armor of God?
  3. Think of difficult situations you have faced in the past. How did God’s armory help you stand in those situations?
  4. How does recalling the victories God brought to you in the past increase your faith for the future?

APPLICATION:

Be ready for battle by equipping yourself with the whole armor of God.
