READ: Ephesians 6:18-20
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
KEY THOUGHT:
Even with battles raging all around you, God still has a mission for you to accomplish – the mission of proclaiming the good news of the gospel! Sometimes the battle gets in the way and you must seek God’s help to open doors of opportunity and provide you with the right words to share Jesus Christ and the salvation He brings with others. Paul asked the Ephesian church to pray for him to have the words and the boldness to speak the gospel – the message he desired to deliver – even when doing so brought persecution. You might be facing a difficult challenge, but if you know Jesus as your personal Savior, then you already have the victory. But there’s others around you who are lost and being overtaken by Satan. They need the gospel that you have hidden in your heart so that they can share in the victory that you already have in Jesus Christ.
CONSIDER:
- Why is it sometimes difficult to share the gospel with others?
- Think of someone you know who is lost and needs to trust Jesus Christ as their Savior. What are some things that have hindered you from sharing the gospel with that person?
- How can God give you words to speak and boldness to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ?
APPLICATION:
Pray for God’s strength and His liberty to proclaim the gospel message to others.
