A Fit Offering (2 Timothy 4:6)

A Fit Offering (2 Timothy 4:6)

READ: 2 Timothy 4:6

2 Timothy 4:6 (KJV)
For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

KEY THOUGHT:

What makes an offering fit to God? If you consider Romans 12:1, which defines “reasonable service,” you could say that a fit offering is one who has surrendered themselves as a living sacrifice for God. One would need look no further than the apostle Paul to see such an offering, fit to be poured out at the end of his life. Like the apostle Paul, you should desire to live in a way that pleases God and fits the model for reasonable service. Then and only then will you be ready to be offered in the same way as Paul described.

CONSIDER:

  1. Why should you live in so that your life is an offering to God?
  2. How is placing your life on the altar for God reasonable service?
  3. What can you do to ensure that you are “ready to be offered” at the end of your life?

APPLICATION:

Develop a desire to offer your life to God, as your reasonable service to Him.
