READ: 2 Timothy 1:11-12
11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
KEY THOUGHT:
Being persuaded means that you have a strong belief and conviction about something. It means that you are so convinced in what you believe that you are willing and ready to act on it. When you trust in God’s provision of salvation through Jesus Christ, that means that you are persuaded by the truth to believe in everlasting life and to live for Christ according to His calling. Just as God called the apostle Paul to be a preacher and teacher to the Gentiles, God has a special purpose for your life. If you’re persuaded that He saved you for a purpose, then you can act on that persuasion, trusting and knowing that He is faithful to see you through.
CONSIDER:
- How persuaded are you about God’s plan of salvation?
- Are you persuaded that God has a special purpose for you? Why or why not?
- Why are some Christians persuaded to trust God’s with their salvation but not with their day to day life?
APPLICATION:
Be persuaded in God’s power to carry out His grand plan for your life!
