READ: 1 John 2:12-14
12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.
13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.
14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
KEY THOUGHT:
The gospel message is not exclusive. It is inclusive. Think about what Jesus spoke in John 3:16. His message was that God loved the world (all who are in it) so much that He would give His Son for it. And whosoever (anyone, regardless of who they might be) could be forgiven and receive everlasting life by believing on Him. Because of this, you can know 1) that your sins are forgiven; 2) that You can know Jesus personally; 3) that you can overcome Satan through Jesus Christ; 4) that you can know God the Father through Jesus; and 5) that you can have His Word in you. No matter who you are, no matter what you’ve done, and no matter how old you might be, if you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, you will be saved! That’s a message for everyone.
CONSIDER:
- What makes the gospel applicable to everyone?
- Read Romans 1:16. What does it say the gospel is to those who believe?
- Why is it important to share the gospel message with the world?
- What are some ways that you can help send the light of the gospel message to everyone that needs it?
APPLICATION:
Experience the power of the gospel by faith in Jesus Christ!
