READ: Ephesians 2:14-17
Ephesians 2:14-17 (KJV)
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
KEY THOUGHT:
Before you were saved by Jesus Christ, you were God’s enemy. There was no way that you could be at peace with God. But, through Jesus, you have a new peace that only He could give to you. He reconciled all of the differences between you and God and made you partaker of His promise of eternal life.
CONSIDER:
- How is an unsaved person an enemy of God?
- How does becoming a friend of God bring you peace?
- What does it mean to you to have your differences with God reconciled by Jesus?
APPLICATION:
Through Jesus Christ, you can have peace in knowing that He has removed the “wall of partition” that once separated you from that very special peace.
