READ: 1 Peter 2:4-6
1 Peter 2:4-6 (KJV)
4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.

KEY THOUGHT:
When you became a Christian, you became a living, breathing part of the body of Christ. That made you a part of a dwelling for the Holy Spirit of God – a new creature that God chose to be His dwelling place. That’s an amazing thing – to know that Jesus Christ is the cornerstone and you are a building stone that lives, breathes, and moves about as His body on earth to be a witness and to do service that pleases God.
CONSIDER:
- What does the Bible mean when it describes you as a “lively stone?”
- What are some of your responsibilities a part of God’s spiritual house?
- How does a weak stone affect the integrity of a building? What can make you a strong stone in God’s spiritual dwelling?
APPLICATION:
Be a lively stone in the structure of the body of Christ on earth.
