A Unified Body

A Unified Body

READ: Ephesians 4:1-6

Ephesians 4:1-6 (KJV)
1  I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
2  With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
3  Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4  There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5  One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6  One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

KEY THOUGHT:

One for all, all for one” is a phrase that implies brotherhood and unity. As a Christian, that phrase might be modified to say that One died for all so that all could serve as one. You see, God bought you and brought you into His family to become part of the body of Christ on earth, which is the church. Though all members are different, they should use their uniqueness to serve in unity as one body.

CONSIDER:

  1. What does being part of the body of Christ mean to you?
  2. How does your Christian calling and vocation fit into the body of Christ?
  3. Do you function within the church as one who keeps unity or not?

APPLICATION:

Make living in harmony with the body of Christ a priority.
