Be a Practical Helper (2 Thessalonians 3:13-15)

READ: 2 Thessalonians 3:13-15

2 Thessalonians 3:13-15 (KJV)
13  But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
14  And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
15  Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

KEY THOUGHT:

Christians are called to minister to others. That means that you are to be a help to others, regardless of their circumstance. Rather than judging others, help others. As you do the work of the ministry, it’s important that you remain faithful and generous to those who need help. Not only should you help others by praying for them, you must also demonstrate help in a practical way by doing what’s necessary to meet their needs. Even when there are those who find themselves in difficult situations because of their bad choices, by grace you can help them by sharing the truth of God’s Word in a practical way to help them get back on track.

CONSIDER:

  1. Why can helping others make you weary? How can you combat that weariness?
  2. What are some practical ways you can help others in your church?
  3. Why is it important for you to focus on helping others rather than judging them in their situation?

APPLICATION:

Do what’s practical and necessary to help those who stray from the truth find their way back to the fold.
