Think About It:
Giants get in the way. Whether it’s a physical giant, like the Philistines’ Goliath, or a or a circumstantial or situational giant problem, they all seem too large to conquer and… they just get in the way. Even though a giant problem may seem insurmountable, there is a way to bring the giant down with God’s help. Looking at the story of David and Goliath we find several steps to bringing down a giant. The first step is to be available. There’s no way that you can bring a giant down if you’re not available to do it. Like David, you can be available to bring down your giant if you are:
- Always in your place
- Attentive to your role
- Able to respond
David was busy doing what he was supposed to be doing, right where his father could find him. As a result, David had the opportunity to bring down Goliath. Are you making yourself available to bring down a giant?
Reflect on It:
- What are some things that limit your availability to serve God?
- What determines whether or not you are available to serve God?
- How can you be more available for serving God?
Act on It:
Be available and ready when God calls!
