READ: 1 Timothy 2:3-8
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
7 Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.
8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
KEY THOUGHT:
Being true to God’s plan means that you not only understand God’s plan of salvation, but also you act on it and you live it out. To be true to God’s plan, you must know it. You see, God’s plan includes a desire that all would come to know Him through the truth of His Word and through the truth of His Son, Jesus Christ, who is the only mediator between sinful mankind and a holy God.
Acting on the knowledge of God’s plan includes humbling yourself before Him and admitting that your freedom from captivity to sin can only be accomplished through the ransom paid by Christ and then accepting His payment as a gift.
Living out God’s plan of salvation involves proclaiming His plan to others. Testifying of Jesus Christ and what He’s done for you is part of that. Ensuring the integrity of the gospel is maintained is another part. That means that the truth is the truth and nothing should be added to it or taken away from it. Let God’s plan be the truth you live!
CONSIDER:
- How does God’s plan impact your daily life?
- What are some ways that you can live out God’s plan?
- How do you act on God’s plan?
APPLICATION:
Trust in God’s plan as the perfect plan!
