READ: Ephesians 1:19-23
Ephesians 1:19-23 (KJV)
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

KEY THOUGHT:
Genealogy is a study of generations that helps you learn about your family tree, which is the structure of your family. God’s family has a structure and a genealogy. Sometimes we overlook those parts of the Bible, but they’re important because, if you belong in the family of God, those genealogies show your heritage and help you understand how God structures His family around Jesus, who is at the top of the family tree!
CONSIDER:
- Who is the head of your earthly family? Who is the head of your heavenly family
- How do you show respect to those in the family structure, especially to the head of the family?
- When you think of Jesus as the head of the church and of God’s family, what does that mean to you?
APPLICATION:
Recognize your place in God’s family structure and your responsibility to honor Christ, the head of the family.
